Judge was born May 11, xxxx. We were told that he is an off-the-track Thoroughbred but we have no record of him being raced. He is approximately 16.1 hh. He has good ground manners. He was originally trained for racing so he will need a new home that will continue his re-training. He gets along well with the other horses and has a nice personality. Judge`s adoption fee is $500. 6/29/07 - Judge is going to a foster home for a month for some training. He is still available for adoption but will off of Lollypop`s property. 8/17/07 - Judge is back on our property and doing very well. He did wonderfully at his foster home. They were able to ride him and he responded well to soft reins. I will be getting a formal write-up from the foster mom and will be posting on here. Here is what Judge`s foster mom had to say: Judge is a sweetheart of a horse who loves attention and is very good for the farrier and stood quietly while having his mane pulled. He is very insecure so is constantly looking for the bogey man when you are on the ground with him so he needs guidance as to how to react to certain things. For example when lunging he is very willing but will stop and check to see if you really mean for him to go forward and you have to say yes, very definitely for him to move out again. There is not a mean bone in his body. Under saddle he is much more relaxed and willing to listen to the rider. He has very good brakes and would easily slow down or speed up in the walk and trot gaits. He hasn`t any idea what the bit is really for but as long as you don`t grab at his face he is quite happy. The canter is very unbalanced and more correct lunging would help that alot. He is very willing to pick up the canter and did not try to run away or bolt, but his lack of balance makes it hard to stay in the gait. He was ridden around a stadium jumping course, not jumped but in the arena with jumps, and after we walked him around and met all the fences he couldn`t have cared less about them. He is very stiff to one side and needs lots of stretching exercises. He was a pleasure to have at our farm.
